“It was just a year of much frustration, much confusion, much adaption.”

What will you tell your grandkids, or younger generations or my kids in general? I'd probably tell them that 2020 was, well personally for me it wasn't a depressing year, I feel like for others it definitely was. It was just a year of much frustration, much confusion, much adaptation. And I don't know I feel like it'd be a good, a life lesson to give them, you know, like things like this can happen and then things that are really, like can really really -- really affect people like things that can take away your loved ones. Things that make you see that you really need to be careful when things like this come around, so yeah.

“I’ve probably been like lost at… Meijer’s like a thousand times.”

So I've probably been stranded at Meijer’s. Well not any, ok stranded -- I don’t know if I would call that stranded, but I've probably been like lost at, what's it called, Meijer’s like a thousand times. And how I got back from that situation. My mom would go, with no type of embarrassment, she would go up to the office thing and she'd say, oh can you please announce to the whole store, my mom is looking for me in the front, and I'm like, oh my goodness like it was so embarrassing. I mean even as a child it was so embarrassing. But, you know nothing, yeah I've never been stranded anywhere like lost. I could not honestly see my parents like losing me or having me get into a situation where I would get stranded. But yeah, I’ve never been really stranded before.

“I’ve been really enjoying my time in football. Coaches are really cool.”

I've been really enjoying my time in football. Coaches are really cool. Like -- I honestly, this is like my first year of football, I honestly was really surprised on how crazy and different it is, like you need a mental will to be there. Like you need to want to be there. If you don't, then it's really easy to quit and tap out because of all like how tired you get after practice or how much you need to remember, stuff like that. It's fun though. It's like having a family, it's like having a second family in football and the coaches they’re really cool. They're like another like a guiding figure in your life. Like they guide you through the way and they're not like sugar coating anything. They're not gonna like make life easy or like say it's like you're doing good like, “nice job man”. They're not gonna do that. They want you to be really good, so like they're real with you. So it's like someone that you can be real with in practice. And yeah so that happened.

“That’s probably my main goal, other than to maintain my straight A grades that I’ve been having.”

I need to start exercising, definitely gained like ten pounds, little bit insane. So, wanna get that off and wanna get muscles back and such. That would be very nice. And let's see here. That's probably my main goal, other than to maintain my straight A grades that I've been having. Other than that nothing to really stressful in my life, just a little bit annoying. Like I said work, is just getting a little little tad bit annoying, the whole process.

“I got hired at a job, Kentucky Fried Chicken and I start on Monday.”

I got hired at a job, Kentucky Fried Chicken and I start on monday. Very much excited for that, just want to earn money. That's probably my one motivation. I want to buy a dog, a really nice Michigan hat, clothes, nice clothes, sweaters, pants, I don't have any pants, and probably save a lot of it up, probably the majority. Hopefully if all goes to plan, yeah starting probably next Monday. Manager did not even specify but I'm not complaining at all. Just eager to work.

“I wonder how Halloween is gonna work out.”

I wonder how Halloween is gonna work out. Honestly, personally, if I was a kid or if I had children, I probably would not let them trick or treat cause that's like a whole -- I mean unless you want through the process of literally getting every single treat or sanitizing it make sure there's anything on it. But I don't know I guess, how much trouble people want to go to get their children their candies, but I don't know It could work, but I don't see it having too much of a turnout.

“And now here we are six months into quarantine fun times.”

I remember actually a moment in class, my math teacher he gave us an option to take a test in case we didn't go back to school. And so it would be a chance to raise our grade, and if we did not take the test, we wouldn't have that chance to raise our grade up. And in my mind I thought, at that moment I was like oh well, why would I do that? There's no way that we're not going to come back to school, I mean that's ridiculous and now here we are six months into quarantine, fun times, fun times.

“I don’t share a room with anybody, sometimes I kind of wish I did…”

For me like my room right now, It's decorated with a lot of antiques. I really like the antiques, but I would prefer it to be like more modern. Like again having the modern shapes and being just black and white. I really, like I like the shape, the antiques but there. I don't know I've had them for a really long time. And so maybe I would like to have them in like a cabinet. And I don't have a roommate -- I don't share a room with anybody. Sometimes I kind of wish I did because to be quite honest I kind of wish I had somebody to like bicker with. I don't at some -- it sounds kind of crazy, but I kind of like the bickering.

“So we switched to an all online school to see how that goes”

The online schooling has been nice cause I have a lot of extra time now to do what I want to do. Since we don't have to be in the classroom the whole time, and yeah. I guess another thing I guess I could talk about is I had switched schools this year cause my school didn't have a very good -- my family wasn’t very happy with my school's plan. So we switched to an all online school to see how that goes, and I'm kind of excited. I've always wanted to try an all online school. And so I guess yeah, I guess that's finally come true.

“We had things like Google Classroom, but I don’t feel like the tools were used successfully.”

I, am I'm a senior this year. Yeah, it's definitely been weird with the whole COVID thing as far as school goes, because finishing up my eleventh grade year I was actually online for the last tri of it basically. I barely started my third trimester at the school, um you know, and it was so it was so interesting being online because I feel like as a community everybody really tried to support the elementary Schools and all of that and that's all great and fine, but when it came to the high school, that's where we really failed. And in the middle schools. Because you have elementary teachers who can easily go out to a second grader or a first grader’s house and sit in the driveway and do math with them. But a High School teacher, I mean we're so used to sitting in a classroom and having hour-long discussions that — they — no teacher did that we had things like Google classroom, but I don't feel like the tools we had were used successfully. Honestly, I wish that we had a little more knowledge about how to deal with the situation.
