“I don’t share a room with anybody, sometimes I kind of wish I did…”

For me like my room right now, It's decorated with a lot of antiques. I really like the antiques, but I would prefer it to be like more modern. Like again having the modern shapes and being just black and white. I really, like I like the shape, the antiques but there. I don't know I've had them for a really long time. And so maybe I would like to have them in like a cabinet. And I don't have a roommate -- I don't share a room with anybody. Sometimes I kind of wish I did because to be quite honest I kind of wish I had somebody to like bicker with. I don't at some -- it sounds kind of crazy, but I kind of like the bickering.

“…The first letter that she got really brought her a lot of joy”

I sent a few different letters to my grandmother who is 98 years old. She lives in San Diego and she has dementia, but it's not too bad like she has sort of Lucid moments. My uncle who lives with her and takes care of her told me that the first letter that she got really brought her a lot of joy and I think that it feels like it brings her back into herself a little bit. So I've just been trying to write her since I've got, and I'm really grateful that I have the time to do that. And then in the meantime, I can support the post office.

“The last time I had a “good haircut” was back in January…”

The last time I had a "good haircut" was back in January, early January or late December. My husband had given me a gift certificate to a spa/salon that is very upscale that I normally wouldn't go to for a haircut and had a really nice cut and some highlights put in my hair. And that was before I went down to Florida with my mom. I did have my haircut once at Great Clips in Florida in early March before things really got crazy with the lockdown. So my last official haircut was in early March. Since that time I have been -- I have a short haircut, so I just trimmed my bangs, I kind of sweep it to the side and was managing to get by but I was really shaggy over my ears in the back. Of course, I had no idea what that looked like, hadn't looked, and haven't been going out anywhere to really care, so I was just letting it go.

“The first time I pulled weeds I’m like ‘this is easy’, but then took a long time”

Is there anything you've done that you thought would be pretty easy but actually turned out to be harder than you expected? To pull weeds. The first time I pulled weeds I'm 'like this is easy', but then took a long time, but I didn't know what weeds really looked like.  Pulling weeds?  Yeah, okay, actually not pulling weeds, playing Roblox because you're like 'this game's easy'. You just gotta dodge all the slimes but actually you gotta try to shoot them and not get attacked by them.

“I’ve been trying to think of stuff that will make Zoom meetings better.”

I've also been trying to think of like stuff that make my zoom meetings better and stuff because when you're at school, it's kind of boring. So some of the things that I'm going to do is I'm going to use slime and I got some slime for my birthday. So I'm definitely going to be playing with that. Obviously not like making a huge mess but like away from the computer, but I'm going to just kind of be playing with all party or something just cuz that's a fun thing or like fidget spinner something that way I don't get really bored doing Zoom meetings cuz it's kind of boring.

“I find that just getting a card or mail or something unexpected like that is really a treat.”

What is the best thing I received in the mail in a past month? You know, I received a card from my goddaughter who is really good about sending Father's Day cards and stuff like that, and was just one of those out of the blue cards, you know, hope-you're-feeling-well, thinking-about-you card. We communicate with electronic means often enough but I find that just getting a card in the mail or something unexpected like that is really a treat. I hope that the postal service will be able to do whatever they need to survive. It's an institution and you know, in times like this when sometimes maybe some people who aren't computer savvy or what have you, that might be the only means of communication. I find that I even enjoy getting the junk mail, which is unusual, at least somebody cares enough to send their very best.

“I ordered a kit radio related soldering kit.”

I ordered a kit, a radio related soldering kit. It's called a Morserino. It allows you to practice your Morse Code sending. It will allow you to interface with the radio that doesn't have the proper interface for a paddle sending device, which is instead of a straight key, which you see in all the movies, there's two others and a computer a microchip dictates the length of each character, and so you have to -- it'll physically make the sound, and it’s a little easier for you, but not all radios have that circuitry, so you can use this. The main thing is though that you can connect it to the internet, and it will allow you to talk to other people through Morse Code through the internet, which is pretty cool.

“Now that we’re restarting school my week has been quite crazy…”

Now that we're restarting school, my week has been quite crazy because I am preparing to go back to University in person with a lot of restrictions and regulations and changes. So I'm trying to figure out how pedagogically to manage that. Greeting a new group of students with a lot of unusual things in place, doing a lot with keeping students live streaming into the classroom, making sure we have a really active online presence, which makes a lot of sense considering we might, we just don't know what's going to happen. And in the meantime, I'm also managing getting my kids, my own kids, ready for the next school year, which is entailing at this point three weeks of virtual learning. So their teachers are kind of, of course scrambling to try and get their classrooms ready online and then disseminate that information to us, which is a lot to go through.

“What’s the latest you’ve ever stayed up?”

What's the latest you've ever stayed up?  Probably the 4th of July. Yeah like at least 12:00 no, no 11:30. When -- when I probably went to bed.  That seems about right cause I think we had fireworks until about 11:00 and then we probably stayed up for a little while.  And then and then I didn't actually go to sleep at -- it was probably at least 12 when I do sleep, when I actually fell asleep on my bed. I usually when I'm in bed, I just stay there until I’m sleepy and then I just closed my eyes and go to sleep. Does it take you a long time to go to sleep you think? Yeah. So what do you think about while you're trying to go to sleep?   Nothing I just sit there, look along my bedroom. How can you look around your bedroom when it’s dark? I can see. You can see?  Yeah. Oh man. That's a good super power. To be able to see in the dark. What’s your bedtime now?   It used to be 9:00 now, It's 10:00. No it probably used to be 8:00.  And then now, then there's nine and then now it's 10:00. I go to sleep at 10:00.  Are you in night time person or a morning person? Nighttime Nighttime person for sure. Yeah, but I stay up, I like playing video games.
