My husband and I went to Europe, and we were in London, and we had just left Ireland. So we had all of our luggage and we were making it from the train to the subway and we didn’t know where to go. We didn’t know the first thing about a subway. We had all this luggage. And then my shoe decided to break.
And we’re standing in the middle of the subway station looking like Americans who don’t know anything. And this one American came over to us who, he said — I told him where we needed to go and he said he would point us in the right direction and he got on the, on the bus with us. On the subway bus with us. And when it came to our destination he pointed out that this was where we get off.
Well, it turned out that he had gotten on the wrong bus just to help us. He had to go catch his own bus after he dropped us off to his destination — to our destination. Which I thought was so incredibly kind of him. We get to the motel, we dropped off our luggage, I fixed my shoe. Things we- went great after that. But that total feeling of, of lost and alone and then a just savior out of, out of nowhere comes up and speaks with an American accent and tells you, “I’ll show you where to go,” that was priceless.
