“So Sunday, I went to the Urgent Care.”

So I’m sick. I’m not super sick anymore. I just have the, like, the remnants of being sick and I was really sick on like Friday and Saturday. So Friday and Saturday, I was like, really sick. I had fever, headache, muscle aches. I really couldn’t breathe, and I had this really bad cough. And it’s still a little hard to breathe. Like I still — I have to like use my rescue inhaler often. And my body still feels weak, but I don’t have a fever. O- other than that, I feel fine. So Sunday, I went to the Urgent Care, just ’cause I was like, “Hey, was having trouble breathing” and then I wanted to be like, “Hey, can you help me, like, get me something to like — you know, so I don’t pass out?”

So, first of all, I get there. I had to have my friend drive me ’cause I don’t have my car up here with me. I had my friend drive me and we literally sat in the waiting room for, like, three hours. There was like no one there. Why, why were we there for three hours? It was insane. I get it. Like they, they’re busy, but like, it was so bad. It was — so far, I’ve yet to hear anyone that had a pleasant experience at any of the urgent cares in the area. So that was a great thing to know. But yeah, I was sitting there. And then when I finally got in the room, the nurse was like asking me, like, my — what meds I take and like, what kind of like diseases or illnesses or whatever I have. And I was like, “Oh, well, I have asthma, eczema, allergies, anxiety, Tourette’s.” And as soon as I said anxiety and Tourette’s, I don’t think she believed me. Um, ’cause I, I do have Tourette’s, but it’s not like the stereotypical in your face, “rah, bah, bah, bah,” kinda thing. Um, so she kinda looked at me like I was crazy when I said that. Which already was not a good experience, like why the hell would I f*** with you? Like what? Excuse me?

And then she was like, “Yeah, we’re gonna give you like a covid and a flu test.” And I’m like, “Okay. Okay.” And they never do that. Like I literally never got a swab up my nose. Never did anything. Literally all, all that happened is the doctor came in, listened to my lungs and went like, “Your lungs sound perfect!” And I’m like, “Excuse me? Like I can’t breathe, and I have a cough!” Just because it’s not in your face, doesn’t mean it’s not true. Like, I don’t know what to say. I don’t know what to tell you. And she was like, “Oh, I’ll delay the antibiotic until Thursday and if you’re really not feeling better by then, then you can get it and pick it up and take it.” I’m like, “Really? Like, really, you’re gonna make me suffer?” Like, I’m literally out of breath every time I’m like walking to class because I can’t breathe because of this f****** thing. And you know, what, what makes me even more angry is that she made it sound like I don’t have anything. And then on paper it says I have an upper respiratory infection. If I have an upper respiratory infection why the f*** won’t you give me anything? You know I have asthma. If you know I have asthma, you know I’m at risk of like getting worse. Why? Ugh, it was — it’s so annoying. It’s so frustrating.
