“There was two seconds left on the clock and I just chucked it over my head.”

I don't like homework. I'm a super busy person. Like last night, I had a basketball game. And then right after that I went to volleyball. Oh wait! I need to tell you this. It's super cool. But during the basketball game, I made one from half court. Like not ‘cause I was shooting from half court, but just because there was two seconds left on the clock and I just chucked it over my head and it, it went in and I was like, "Oh my gosh!" And then the coach was just like, "Oh, it's just luck." Like, dude! I actually practice those too. Be- because I've had to do that like three or four times now and I almost made it one time but this time I actually made it 'cause I -- sometimes I just like practice like just chucking the ball at the wall from like half court or like full court or something like that, and just like aim for a brick or something. And this time I actually made it and then the coach was like, "It's just luck." Dude, that's so rude.

“I would probably win every single race, and it would make my life a lot simpler.”

Would you rather be as tall as a giraffe or as fast as a cheetah? I'd say I w- want to be as fast as a cheetah so I could run 80 miles per hour because I like to run a lot. The sport I play, which is soccer, includes a lot of running, and, um, at my school every year, there's this thing we do called mileage club where if you run around, like, a certain course that they made, you can get, like, a toy token after running, like, one mile. And they would probably think I'm cheating or something. But I think it would be a really cool ability to have 'cause it would be like kind of having super speed or something. But I really wouldn't wanna be as tall as a giraffe because, I don't know the actual height, but I'm guessing that's probably like 18.8 feet or something and I wouldn't really fit in any rooms at all. I mean, it would have, like, maybe a really long neck, but there's no uses for a really long neck. As a human, that is. I mean, they're awesome, but you don't really need them. But being as fast as a cheetah, I mean, I could run around and do stuff really fast. Like if I -- I would probably win every single race, and it would make my life a lot simpler. I wouldn't, I wouldn't really need, like, a bike or anything. I could just go noom, zoom down there. Plus, I wouldn't need a car, and maybe if I just grabbed something I could transport it with me. I dunno. I think it would be really cool. I, I could, I -- if my family was on, like, a road trip or something, I could go next to the, the car. I can get out of the car, go next to them on, like, the highway or something, if they're going, like, seventy miles an hour, and run alongside. Plus, I think it -- like I said earlier, it would just have some really handy life stuff, like going to school for instance. Um, like going to work, just, you know, going to places. But I don't know if being able to run fast makes the -- your hands move around fast, like super speed could. So yeah, I think that's all I'm…

“But then they told me why there was no school, and it made me really sad.”

Today, I'm gonna be talking about what happened in 2023 on February 13th and how it impacted my life. From what I remember, on that day I was – so, I – when I got up in the morning and came to my parents, they told me that there was no school, so I was happy. But then they told me why there was no school, and it made me really sad, and a bit frightened, too. So, I'm pretty sure my family closed our blinds and stayed inside our house for that day. But I don't remember it perfectly. I know that I was pretty scared, and I was sad at the thought that some students had just gone to campus, um, from their home, and then never returned home. And I thought about how devastated those parents must have been. And I remember my friend telling to me that his brother, who was 13, I'm pretty sure, was on campus, like, at that time. But he didn't – my friend didn't really tell me any more details about that. And I guess when I heard the news that some of the people in the hospital who were there when the shooting happened – I mean, like, some of the people who got hurt, um, recovered well, and were back on their feet. I would just say that I guess it sparked a little hope. And now – um, and then I'm pretty sure a bit later, like maybe a month later, I heard that there was a shooter in the building – in like a school building in Texas, and I was just really hoping that my school could still be safe. And when the shooting happened here, and not in Texas, um I know – I think she wanted school shut down. But what really was the worst about it – well, what really made it so bad (which, it was) was that normally in [town name], everyone is, like, safe. And nothing really bad happens. Or if it does it's pretty minor. But I assume that in some places it's not quite as big of a deal, of a deal. But here it really was, and I was really sad that that happened. And I was thankful that – um, that only three people died and – when it could have been more. But, I was…

“So we went and played mini basketball for about like seven hours straight.”

Oh you see so I had my cousin over for like four days and we went to an open gym at like 8am, I think, and then we played, played, played. I cooked like usual. And then we get home. We were like, "What should we do?" My parents left, so we were home alone. We were like "What the crap should we do?" So we went and played mini basketball for about like seven hours straight and then it was like, I don't know what time it was, but when we got done, we made cookies and then played more basketball. And then like my mom dad got home and like what was like -- wher- -- they were like "what did you do all the time?" And we were like, "Played basketball." And they were like, "Are you serious?" And I was like "Yes." Uh, yeah, so that's what I did over my Christmas break.

“I found this secret way, sort of, that led into like a huge real maze.”

So we were at, like, a U-Haul place. Um, if you don't know that is, like where we went there was, like, this little garage with tons of moving stuff in it and, like, those are basically, like, just tons of these little tiny garages of moving stuff. And then we ju- -- we found ou- -- we wanted to go explore. We found out it's a little loop and we thought it was fun since it was like a maze. And then I found a separate way. And then like the lights got darker. And we got further away from the people there, since we were just there with his parents and some people they were helping move, um, like move into a new house. Um, and it had this oppos- -- I found this secret way, sort of, that led into like a huge real maze. So my friend asked his mom if she would come with us and it was kind of scary since the floor was different, the lights were dimmer, and we couldn't hear the voices as much so it was really scary. But with his mom, it wasn't. And then he kept telling me that he wanted to go there just by himself. I'm like, "Uh, no thanks." And he kept asking, so I finally said yes. So we went and we were walking. And then -- and we were both pretty scared looking behind us to see if we would get, like, attacked or something. And the- -- well, no, not really, but we saw a light turn off. And at that moment, it was really scary for us since we ke- -- we ke- -- just kept thinking scary things since it was kind of eerie and stuff. Um, and then when the lights turned off -- and really I think it was just a motion-activated light or something or the battery died. And, you know, I'm not super old, so I just like ran and ran. And my friend kept looking behind us. And then we finally got back and then we decided not to go again. And we asked his parents if we could go into the car. And that's what we did.

“How is this supposed to help me get practice for playing goalie?”

I am going to be talking about what has happened today, um, during my soccer practice. So in a different diary, I have said some things about my soccer team. And today, something kind of silly happened. So, um, we were doing a scrimmage -- and if you don't know what that is, it means like a non-real game. It's just where your team gets split up into two. And I was playing goalie for my side. And what happened was the, the, um -- well, my teammates were keeping up the ball -- the ball up the field, I mean, so much that the ball only came to me once. Like literally only once, like it never came up to me. And I’m like, "Uh, the ball's not coming to me." In my mind I was thinking, "How is this supposed to help me get practice for playing goalie?" And then we were -- and then we had like a real-ish scrimmage, I guess, against the girls' team that play in the field right next to us. Well, it's, it's technically the same field but in a different soccer box, I guess, since there are the sidelines in -- behind the goalie b- box. So it's kind of like a rectangle. Let's say the other rectangle. And they play there and sometimes we scrimmage them. And the thing is me -- I, I think most people on my team were like dying to play some soccer because, um, last week one of our practices was canceled and we only have two practices every week. Plus our game was canceled, so I didn't get to play as goalie last week, but now I think I am. Um, and it was pretty funny. But in the girls’ scrimmage the ball did come to me a bit more. One time, my friend, who is on my team, was playing defense -- or when I was playing goalie, they were playing defense. And someone was running up on the other team with the ball. This wasn't the -- our scrimmage, it was the game against the girls. It was only like 20 minutes long. And they were right at the goal. But -- and they were on the left side and I didn't know where my left defender was. So I tried to -- so I grabbed the ball, but then I didn't…

“It really doesn’t fit me very much, but that’s why it’s Wacky Tacky Day.”

Oh, yeah, today is Wacky Tacky Day. And it's fun! I'll describe what I'm wearing. So, in my hair, I'm not really [doing] anything crazy, but I have half my hair pulled up into a bun and the rest is down. And then I'm wearing the bright, um, orange shirt -- like, a neon orange shirt, and under that, I'm wearing a gold academy shirt? This gold academy shirt, I actually won it during a challenge thing. So the challenge was -- um, I was at this camp, and it was a girls and boys camp, and one of the days -- every day, they would pick someone to shoot a free throw, and if they made it, they'd win like a jersey or, like, something like that. And the day -- that day's thing was a jersey, and they picked me to shoot the free throw, and I made the free throw. And then they gave me the jersey, but since it's a men's and women's camp, first grade through tenth grade, it's a men's large. So it really doesn't fit me very much, but that's why it's Wacky Tacky Day. Um, and then under that, I'm wearing my bear pajama pants and they're really comfy. I didn't wear them to bed, though. I wore other pajama pants to bed because I didn't want them to be dirty, cuz that's kinda gross. And then I'm wearing one dog sock and one snowman sock -- fluffy socks -- and Crocs.

“Why is it raining in the kitchen?”

So we were at my gra- -- not my grandparents -- my cousin's house in Iowa and, um, everyone was watching football because it was Sunday afternoon after my, um, uncle had preached at church, Um, so they were all watching football. And this was a couple ye- -- um -- it was like -- I think I was like seven or eight maybe, and my mom gave my little brother -- was giving my little brother a bath upstairs. And so she comes back down because something really exciting happened in football and she wanted to see the replay and all that jazz. So my brother's taking a bath upstairs and he's like four, does not know what he's doing. He's playing with his toys, it's fine. And I walk over to the kitchen to get -- cuz I'm kind of bored out of my mind ‘cause I don't really like football. I walk to the kitchen to get a glass of water or a snack or something and I immediately say, "Um, why is it raining in the kitchen?" And my uncle and Mom run over and then my mom sprints upstairs and turns the water off to my little brother's bath and it kind of flooded the whole upstairs and then a bunch of things were happening and it was a whole issue so we had to go, um, down -- we had to evacuate the house and call these worker people. And so we ended up going to McDonald's and these people came and kind of cleaned it up and they didn't have to like replace it -- anything. They just had to like, use this like, special -- I don't know what they had to do. I was little. Um, so it was really cool -- not cool, awful. But it was kind of funny, and now, I have that fun story.

“My brother kept saying, ‘Mom, there’s a animal on this stroller.’”

So what happened was, when me and my sister were younger, we decided to put carrots outside for the bunnies. But it attracted possums. So they broke into the window. They ran into our garage. And the next morning like we were getting ready for school because we live so close to school so we could just walk. And this was in elementary. Um, and so we were gonna take my little brother in the stroller. So my -- we have like this cup holder and it's of a whale on the stroller, and my brother kept saying, "Mom, there is an animal in the stroller." And she would -- thought it was the whale, so she's like, "Oh okay cool, like blah blah blah blah blah." We were trying to rush to get to school and he kept saying that and saying that. And finally he said, "Mom there is an animal in the stroller." And he was four so he could barely talk so it was really funny. And I was inside grabbing my coat. And all of a sudden I hear my mom screaming. In a stroll- -- in, in the stroller, there was a possum sleeping in a blanket like a little baby, and it was really scary. Uh, and before that, my mom stepped in its poop, so that was great. And then she ran outside, closed the garage, and I ran out screaming. And then we went to school, and then finally, um, my mom came -- my dad came from work and he took the stroller and dumped the possum out. And that was a great story. We got in a little bit of trouble.

“We also set up our Christmas lights.”

And then we also set up our Christmas lights and a lot of people think that's like really early but actually it's like -- cause we want to have them up for Halloween and leave em up for a long time. And then we also set up like some Halloween decorations. We normally don't have Halloween decora- decorations. But this year because, this year because my mom saw something that she liked, so now she's gonna do that. And, yeah.
